Restaurant point of sale
Keep taking orders and payments, even when the internet drops
FooodPOS is a point of sale for restaurants, made by Threecom. Your staff take orders and payments on Android tablets and phones or Windows PCs. You set up the menu, tables and prices, and read the day's sales, in a web browser.

Everyday problems FooodPOS takes care of
Six things that go wrong in busy restaurants, and what FooodPOS does about each.
“The internet dropped in the middle of dinner.”
The till carries on taking orders, discounts and payments. Each one is saved on the till first, then sent to the cloud in the order it happened when the connection returns.
“There's a discount on the books and nobody knows why.”
Every discount and every void at the till needs a reason, and the cashier can add a note to a void. You write the list of reasons, so a week later you can still see what happened.
“Which table is still waiting for the bill?”
The floor plan shows every table as free, seated, billed or reserved. When a party changes tables, move their bill with them.
“The two couples at table 6 want to pay separately.”
Tick the items that move to a new bill. Both totals update as you tick, so nobody works it out on a napkin.
“The cash drawer never matches at closing.”
Start each shift with a counted float and record cash paid in or out. At the end, count the drawer, and FooodPOS tells you plainly how much it is short or over.
“Nobody noticed the rice was running low.”
Give a dish a recipe and its ingredients come off stock when the bill is paid. Record deliveries and wastage, and see anything below its reorder level at the top of your store room list.
When the internet drops
A dropped connection doesn't stop the counter
Every order and payment is saved on the till first. Here is exactly what keeps working without the internet, and what needs the connection.
Saved on the till first
Orders, discounts and payments are written to the till's own storage before anything is sent.
Sent in order, counted once
When the connection returns, the till sends its saved work in the order it happened. If a reply goes missing and a change is sent again, the cloud recognises it and doesn't count it twice.
Nothing hidden
The floor plan shows how many changes are still waiting to be sent. Anything the cloud refuses is marked in red for a manager, and the rest keep moving.

Keeps working at the till
- Opening bills and adding items, using the menu, prices and floor plan saved on the till
- Line and bill discounts, and voiding items
- Taking payment
- Printing the bill, marked as provisional
Needs the connection
- Signing in, and pairing a new till
- Opening and closing a shift
- Refunds
- Splitting a bill, and moving a bill to another table
- QR table ordering, including printing table QR codes
- Reports and the back office
Closing the day at the main till also works without the connection, if every shift was closed before it dropped. The cloud checks the close when the connection returns. If a shift or a bill was still open, the till says so plainly and the day stays open until it is closed again.
FooodPOS is built to ride out a dropped connection during service, not to run without the internet for days. A till's sign-in lasts a set time. The till warns you before it runs out, and work saved after that waits until someone signs in again.
How it works
How FooodPOS fits together
- 1
Set up in your browser
Add your menu, draw your floor plan, and set your taxes, service charge and prices in the back office.
- 2
Pair your tills
Add a till in the back office and type its six-character pairing code on the device. Choose whether it is a main till, a sub till or a waiter device.
- 3
Serve, then read the numbers
Changes you make in the back office reach every till. Sales, payments, tax and shifts come back to your reports.

Beyond the counter
QR table ordering
Guests scan the code on their table and order from their own phone. Staff accept or reject each order at the till or in the back office.
Stock
Recipes take ingredients off stock when a bill is paid. Deliveries, wastage, stock takes and transfers each leave a line on the item's stock card.
Reports
Sales, item sales, payments, tax summary, commission and shifts, by business day. Download any report as a CSV file.
Staff and access
Choose what each group of staff may see and change, and which tills may take payment, void or close the day.
